Just lately i have been messing about with wood and cardboard, just trying to add some depth to my work really, hoping for a cross over between painting and sculpture. These ideas have been in my little pile of plans for a while so its nice to turn them into reality.
I'm really pleased with how the first one came out, and should have anouther complete by the end of the week.
This is called "buildings" and is made from cardboard with several gesso coatings applied before the acrylic.
here is the same piece in production.

I've been commissioned to produce a tall thin painting but have been given free reign on the content. After leafing through my current photographs i decided to use one of a local mill building on the river Stour close to where i live, its quite hidden and not commonly known, you have to do a little commando training to get through the brambles to it, but it's much easier during winter to get a decent look. Anyway i managed to complete the painting this weekend and hope to have the clients approval soon.

Acrylic on Wood panel
Hi
Well the winter is upon us and for me that means my winter paint palette is in full flow. Ive finished all my ideas from the end of Summer and Autumn and will be out and about photographing the winter landscapes around South Staffordshire and working on new paintings.
This painting is from a series of photo's taken over Christmas and is called "through the light" its painted in acrylic on ply wood and measures 60cm x 60cm.
I will be working on a few more plywood works over the next few weeks and posting them up on here.
